Maternity/Paternity Leave

At Zaga, we celebrate the joys of family and understand the significance of supporting our team members during the exciting journey of parenthood. To ensure a smooth and supportive experience, we have outlined our Maternity Policy below:

Maternity Leave Entitlement

By law in Colombia, every expecting employee is entitled to a maternity leave of eighteen (18) weeks during the childbirth period, with full remuneration based on the salary at the commencement of the leave.

Paternity Leave Entitlement
By law in Colombia, every expecting father is entitled to a paternity leave of two (2) weeks during the childbirth period, with full remuneration based on the salary at the commencement of the leave.

Step One - Notification to HR

We encourage our team members to notify the HR department as soon as they become aware of their pregnancy. This initial step allows us to plan and coordinate leave timings effectively.

Step Two - Sharing Plans with Clients

Upon notification to HR, we request expecting employees share their anticipated maternity leave plans, including expected dates, to facilitate coordination with our clients. This ensures a seamless transition and allows for effective project planning. Additionally, confirm with HR if you plan to take any additional vacation days beyond the statutory maternity/paternity leave.

Step Three - Post-Birth Notification

Following the birth of your baby, kindly inform the HR department. Please provide all necessary documentation required by the healthcare system.
